Fri. Feb. 2nd,2007:
At the morning we went all for some shopping to Browns bay, met at the library and went to the French Cafe returning home for lunch. After lunch Gerti and Hans Peter went with us to west coast, first stopped at Macadamia Cafe (specialities from Macadamia nuts)and after that we walked through the garden with ponds and water lillies on it, and orchard of Macadamia trees (I wanted to buy the orchard with the factory but missed the necessary small change for the 15 acres). Then we went on to MURIWAI beach (nice broad and long beach, some high rocks and waves suited for surfers), where we first walked up to see a large GANNET-colony (thousands of birds) on the rocks near the sea, existing there since approximately 20 years. There was sun and very strong waves, so we decided not to enter the water but just to stroll along the beach. After that impressive excursion we went back home for dinner.
