Round the world - Japan part two




Fri 19.1.2007: Weather: cold but sunny for an excursion to Tokyo - off at 7h15 Kimiko brings us to Zushi-station, from there we are guided by Hiro in the 'green car' train to Tokyo Hamatsucho, Hato tour 'Dynamic Tokyo' starting with:
1. Tokyo tower - lift to 150m, marvellous view to Tokyo in the sun, Mt. Fuji was still almost hidden in the fog. Then
2. Tee ceremony in Happoen Garden, after that we strolled through this old Japanese garden, where very old Bonsai's were exhibited (up to 500 years old). then
3. Drive to lunch at 'Chinzan-so' garden restaurant, where we had Japanese Barbequeue. After lunch we still had a short photo-stop at the imperial palace, and after that
4. Sumida River Cruise from Hinode pier to Asakusa with excellent view on various buildings and bridges. Then we walked to
5. Asakusa Kannon temple - before getting there we passed a long and crowded souvenir shopping mall and saw the temple, pagoda and side temples until we met the bus again there to
6. drive through GINZA shopping district back to the bus terminal at Hamatsucho, where we met with Hiro who guided us back to his home as every evening with a nice meal.
