US 1 - Camarillo to Las Vegas

Fri. March 2nd, 2007: Ventura-Camarillo to Las Vegas
After nice welcome and long talks and planning with Carol and Bill Langford we stayed with them and after a real breakfast and Bill got us to the local AAA (American OeAMTC) for a real profound route planning session and good maps and materials. After that we said good bye, got rich with a lot of information... and went off at 12h via a very scenic road through the Mojave desert. We faced quite some traffic and arrived already in the dark at Las Vegas, locating the reserved hotel (Villa Roma Quality inn). Then we went off for a long walk along the exciting 'STRIP' - the Boulevard street with all attractions and a lot of lights and things to see, ended spending some dollars at a slot machine for a try, and returned tired back to the hotel on a bus along the Strip.
