US 3 - BRYCE N.P to Grand Canyon

Sun. March 4th,2007: BRYCE N.P. to Grand Canyon.
Waking up at 5h15 Mountain time (one hour earlier than California) we drove without breakfast up to the highes point in BRYCE - Rainbow Point, in time to see a magnificent rise of the sun (at 2496 m above sea level) !!! Full moon accompanied us all the way. But few spots, fortunately the street was dry. So we continued from one to the next view points of BRYCE, one more beautiful and impressive than the other, and continued back to Harolds to have a nice breakfast and packing. Then we started our long drive to Grand Canyon: starting Str. 89 to Carmel Junction to the GLEN CANYON DAM (we visited from the visitor's centre), passing lots of red to grey rocky mountains, back to ARIZONA, for a short lunch at PAGE and continued through NAVAJO land on Str. 64 to a little stop at the Little Colorado River Gorge up to the Grand Canyon through to TUSAYAN, where we arrived tired but happy that we found a nice room at QUALITY INN (thanks the good descriptions we got from AAA).
